Sea Fishing

Mike's meals are not the same since he bought a place at Shoal Beach. There's nothing like finishing up a hard day relaxing with a nice pan fried Moki and a few paua fritters. Even though Mike's Champagne tastes are attributed to the name of his little red boat, he much prefers to wash it down with an ice cold Tui.

When the birds are working Mike's neighbour Dave heads out to sea because he loves trolling for Kawhai.

Fishing in Shoal Bay by the locals is either from the rocks, a kayak, or by boat.  The nets are set in the bay and there is always a catch of fish for tea to be shared among the local baches or campers. There is no need to be greedy because the sea is full of fresh fish each day, so there is always a feed to be had.
